High or low Impedence volume pedal

Post by kaptainsun » Sun Dec 17, 2017 12:21 pm

I'm wondering which volume pedals would work best with Werkstatt?

I'm running my werkstatt to a delay pedal and then to a loop pedal and then to the PA.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking along the lines of differences in impedance between different volume pedals.

Will this effect the sound?

I am basically looking for a clean volume fade for the recorded loops and possibly the same for the werkstatt sounds - altough a volume pedal that effects the tone could be considered in this case.

All suggestions are appretiated.

Hi katainsun,

As a rule, you want to use high-impedence pedals for things like passive guitar/bass pickups, and low-impedence pedals for things that have line-level outputs.

So, the low-impedence is best for the Werkstatt, but you could get away with using a high-impedence volume pedal if you needed to. (It's using a low-impedence volume pedal on guitar that would cause more problems.)

Here's a video I made discussing high/low-impedence volume pedals vs. continuous footcontroller pedals:
