EP-3 static and alternatives

I'm trying to use the EP-3 with my Minifooger boost pedal but I keep getting this swishy static sound whenever I adjust the EP-3. Has anyone had this issue and been able to fix it? What alternate pedals can drive a minifooger? Any recommendations?
