MF Drive, possible for the filter to open more?

Post by MBlom » Mon Dec 22, 2014 6:12 pm

I enjoy the drive but I would like the filter to be more open. Or is it the drive circuit that makes the sound "duller"? I'm a bit disappointed by that. Maybe with the knob att full and an expression pedal too? Or is the a mod that can be done?

If you use the attentuator in the CP-251 you might be able to nudge the voltage range up a bit. Other attenuators like those built by CoPilot Fx might be compatible as well. Also try to adjust the dial on your EP-2 or EP-3 to maximum. You will not get maximum range out of a pedal with a smaller k pot inside like the Roland EV, etc. I think the Moog has a pot with a range of 50 or 100k inside. This makes quite a bit of difference . . .

With all that said I don't own the Drive Pedal. I do own the Moog Guitar which has the same filter minus the distortion and I have succeeded in expanding the range on my filter using the CP-251.
