More polyphony possible?

Post by kimmolainen » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:04 am

Hi!

Would it be possible to expand the polyphony of Animoog and Model 15? They are the best sounding apps I have. I would happily pay for an upgrade to 8 voices.

+1, I second this motion.

Sometimes I enjoy the 4-voice limit - creates a challenge to be more creative. But sometimes I would like more pylophony as well.

Yes, 4 is enough for a lot of good times, but some of the beautiful, long-release pads that Animoog can do would benefit from from more. I wrote Moog about the matter, they have "no plans to work on increased polyphony".

It's really not a matter of throwing money at it. It's a CPU issue. It might be possible to design the software to get a few more notes on the newest/fastest iOS device out there, but the complexity of what's going on in this amazing app is already taxing earlier iOS devices to their max.
