Sold Out?

Post by Brad » Mon May 03, 2010 1:25 pm

I was a late-comer to the Taurus 3 only placing an order with Sweetwater after this year's NAMM show. I received a call from Sweetwater a week ago inquiring whether I still wanted one. When I answered in the affirmative, I was told delivery would likely be in May. Now, I see that Sweetwater has taken the T3 off its website where it had previously been prominently displayed. Since Sweetwater is no longer taking orders, I suppose that Moog must be telling them that the limited run of 1000 is now sold out.

Well as of winter NAMM, Amos said that 750 of them have been accounted for.

I spoke with Michael Grebe from Sweetwater last week, because I was going to place an order. He told me that he had 48 people on the waiting list already and that the next shipment was not expected until July. He was not sure of the number of pieces.

As it turns out, I was able to buy a set at a local music store in here in NJ (Russo Music http://www.russomusic.com) They had two sets and I purchased one. The other was on display in the store as of last week.

There are 2 of them in the dealers store in Phoenix. Instant gratification.

Novamusik in WI still has them on their website.

So does JRRshop.com.

I ordered one from Novamusik last week. I was told the first 7 of 10 they received about two weeks ago were pre-sold.

Humbucker sold out the 4 remaining they had in less than 72 hours last weekend.

I wanted to wait another 30-60 days because I just went back to work after a 10-month layoff.

But I figured if I waited much longer I was gonna get shut out.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to get some dough together for an Akai MPK-25 to use as a controller.

Ugh, that store is about a 45 minute drive from where I live! I should have just waited to buy it there!
