Received my T3 yesterday from a dealer in Moscow, Russia. Finally! I knew it was not a portable device by any means, however I was really floored (pun intended) by the sheer size and weight of this thing. I am yet to master the "ugly monster" (that's what my wife called it), still even from the get go the sounds it produces are pure awesomeness. Serial number TC-0153.

T3 #292 has landed in Marysville WA.

Kewl as expected, though does have a bug I haven't seen mentioned yet.

After the first 5-10 minutes the LED status light for the "select level" function flipped it's polarity.

So amber is now selecting the lower functions and red is the upper.

I tried a couple restarts but the function remains flipped.

Doh!!!

Unless I don't understand what you are saying... it's supposed to be that way.

From the Manual, page 11: "When 'Upper' is selected, the SELECT LEVEL button is illuminated RED ... When 'Lower' is selected, the SELECT LEVEL button is illuminated AMBER, ..."

Yeah, that's what the manual says, but it's the opposite of how the functions are labeled on the front panel.

Does the Phatty do that too???

I guess I was assuming that the lighter script went with the amber light.......

I guess we're bug free if that's the case!

The Phatty has a one button per function layout, so there is no red/amber confusion. I have not had a problem figuring out which programming mode I'm in using the color scheme on the Taurus III, though...seems pretty self-explanatory to me... :?

My guess is they wanted to stick with the white/amber colo(u)r scheme of the panel while preserving contrast with the lighting.

You could always Voltor out the red LEDs to white ones ;)

Anyway, have fun with the new beast!

No, it is November 2009!

Sorry dude! I ordered from JustMusic in Hamburg.

Btw, I was highly surprised about the serial no. I can't tell why... it is a mystery

But hey! Keep on waiting! It's worth it!

Grüße zurück

1. I am pretty sure they are not shipping serial numbers in order. I believe they are issued form the shipping department.
2. I think that serial numbers will depend on a few things.
a, when your order was received
b, whether or not you ordered from a dealer or from the site
c when the dealer's order was received
3. Which country the unit will be shipping to.

Based on the info that I have been observing, I feel that they are shipping in regional blocks. For example, it would be more economical to wait until they have a pallet of units shipping overseas rather than just a single package. This will explain why someone in New Zealand persay gets theirs way after lots of other people, but has an early serial numbers. If a customer purchased theirs from a dealer, and if the dealer purchased several units early on....this will reflect why dealers have them on their sites, and why people who didn't order the pedals sight unseen can get earlier serial numbers than those who preordered before the deadline.

In instances like these it may seem unfair to the customers who preordered their units and see people who refused to order sight unseen (there were some who blatantly refused and who wanted to hear proof of the sound engine match before ordering...which didn't help the production green light) get lower serial numbers than people who had faith in the company, but I think thats just how things work when individuals and dealers are vying for a limited number of products and they are hitting the market at different times. I think Moog did a pretty fantastic job from fabrication to shipping. I don't think the serial number really matters that much unless you got one of the first 10 or the last one.
