MIDI Foot Pedals and Juno DS-61 w/ Minitaur

Post by sdrury01 » Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:35 pm

I have a MIDI question, for live performance, in a band.
I have a Roland, Juno DS-61, Studio Logic M113 Foot Pedal MIDI Controller,
I usually MIDI the Foot Pedals to the DS-61.
I am getting a Moog Minitaur. My plan was, use the DS-61 as a standalone,
MIDI Out from the Foot Pedals to MIDI in, on the Minitaur, and, basically,
use it like Taurus Pedals. But, was thinking, in case I want to control
the Moog from a keyboard as well as the foot pedals.
If I get a keyboard controller, with a MIDI In and MIDI Out...so, Foot Pedals > Keyboard Controller > Moog then Audio out.
But, is there a way, to use my DS-61 to control the Moog, but then be able to switch between the two?
If I went Foot Pedals Out>DS-61 In, DS-61 Out>Moog In, would there be a way to toggle between controlling the Moog, or using the Juno?
Or, do I just need to buy a separate keyboard controller for the Moog?
Thanks,
Steve

Hello,
I believe you would be able to put everything to the same midi Channel and then just use the volume on each unit to control which one you hear while playing.

Midi cable from Controller to DS61 to Minitaur.

Hope that helps.

Cool!
I tried that, and yea, could hear both the Juno and the Moog (which I love, btw)...
so, yea, that works for me...just adjust the volumes.
I did order a little 25 key controller as well.
Thank you so much!
Steve

"How do you get that Moog sound?"
"Get a Moog!"
