Did I break my Minitaur?

Post by retbutler » Sun Mar 28, 2021 4:27 pm

Hey all. I bought my first Moog, a Minitaur this week and fell completely in love with it. But I'm pretty sure I've broken it. I plugged a cable into the 'audio in' running from a mixer send output and immediately the sound changed. I pulled the cable out but the sound has gone very thin and sounds totally different to how it did before.

I've tried unplugging it for an hour, changing presets in the editor and twisting every knob, nothing seems to work. I had a quick look inside also and everything seems fine, but I am fairly novice in these things.

Anyone have any idea what I've done, if it's something I can fix or get repaired easily? I'm in the UK so sending it to Moog is out.

Was it a powered signal that the mixer was sending?

What you described should not have hurt anything. Which mixer were you using (mostly just curious)? Also is the unit new or used? Could be the problem was intermittent and you just brought it out (due to no fault of your own).
