Powering the Minitaur without wall wart

Postby pfitzsimons » Thu Jan 11, 2018 8:10 pm

I was in the Moog store in Asheville, NC, the other day, and the guy working in the showroom thought that while the Minitaur could potentially be powered with the Voodoo Labs PP+2, it may suffer tonally from the lack of juice.

Voodoo Lab suggested using the AC courtesy but I already have a powered USB hub there. So, at this point, I'm trying to avoid a power strip on my board - DUH!

Someone suggested this on the Voodoo Labs forum: "The Minitaur connected to the two High Current 12V outputs using a Current Doubler Adapter together with a Reverse Polarity Barrel Cable."

So, first of all, has anyone done that? If so, how did it affect the tone?

Or..., has anyone found a different solution?
