Taurus Pedals- FINALLY

Post by JokerVille » Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:21 am

Greetings. After almost 40 years of dreaming it has finally happened. I scored a mint Taurus 3. I'm pretty much a synthesizer technology novice so looking forward to using this site.
Adrenaline surge, for sure.
Now to find a good case - any recommendations since the Moog offering is no longer available?

Get an Anvil custom made and accept no substitutions.

I think I hear the mothership coming.

Here are some links to a couple options that will help you protect/transport your T3

I have the soft case, haven't tried the hard case but i'm planning on getting one eventually (can't stack things in the car with a soft case), i believe there are other people on this forum who have used the hard case.

hard case - http://www.swanflight.com/moog-taurus-3 ... -case.html

soft case - http://www.studioslips.com/selected_mod ... CabID=4577

( i got the "padded briefcase gig bag" theres a picture of it here in the forum.. http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.ph ... 67#p127267 when I ordered it I added double padding, a padded pocket on the front, a shoulder strap with shoulder pad, extra webbing handles on each side going horizontal and leather strips on the bottom.)

Hope this helps. 8)

I bought the hard case from Moog when the T3 came out. I should had bought an Anvil case.

Thanks, guys. I've already determined this is going to become a key piece of my gear, so I'm just going to get an Anvil. I have this very efficient folding dolly that will be perfect that case size.
The T3 is a bit awkward to physically handle given its weight. And, of course, you can't grab the pedals or the end pieces. Would have been really nice to have a couple of built-in hole type handles on the sides of the casing or something. Was even envisioning building a bottom piece with a couple of folding handles to easily lift up and place in a case.

Have you got minitaur? Can you compare minitaur vs Taurus?

Sorry, the T3 is currently the only piece of Moog gear I own.

I do have both and the Taurus III sounds way bigger to my ears. I think the oscillators and/or the filters are better than the Minitaur...

What are the chances for a Taurus 3 without pedals at some point in the future? Absolutely no chance? I want one but the pedals would be wasted on me.

Minitaur is a Taurus sans pedals.

I own both.

Same. I sold my t3 eons ago and regret it ever sense. It sounds much "gnarlier" than the minitaur, which just sounds too metallic most of the time.
