Re: Minitaur Rev 2
Been waiting for something like this; has anyone had luck installing the Minitaur editor/REV2 update specifically on a 10.5.8 Mac?

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
A question about the ability to store presets:
Yes, I was successful in storing presets. One issue I ran into was the filter tracking setting. I was able to successfully track the filter at 200% when I was connected via USB. I was able to successfully save the preset in the Minitaur Editor software on OS X. Everything worked as it should.
I disconnected the MIDI, scrolled through the presets that I had made. The filter tracking preset was back to tracking at 100%.
Would there be any reason why this would happen, other than Moog is maintaining the Minitaur Editor connection as the only way to keep it where it was? When I had the filter tracking at 200%, the sounds were beautiful, and I didn't have to jump up and down the keyboard to hit the notes I wanted to play.
If I'm doing something wrong, I'd definitely be open to suggestion!

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
Ok. The REV 2 impressed me a lot, but for now I found out two bugs. After all the correct steps for the update of firmware and software. I had two important issues: 1. the whole MOD parameters (LFO RATE / VCO LFO AMT and VCF LFO AMT) didn't work. The restart helped, but it happend to me repeatedly. it's definitely an issue. also the lfo rate is working quite differently that in previous versions i think, it looks like it changed resolution or something.
The second most important thing - i don't know what they've changed, but most of presets done before happened to sound and act differently.
Somehow my excitement got down after it. I turned myself back to the 1.0.7.
Is it so hard to make an update that will keep the previously made presets work?

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
old presets doesn't work on the new firmware.
some problems with the mod part - doesn't react until restart.

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
Hey Amos...
Congrats on the new REV 2 OS update for the Minitaur!
Lots of cool new features!
So we are almost there! With up to 100 Presets now storable Onboard...
what we need is to be able to call up any of them... with MIDI Patch Change!
When you're in the heat of the moment... doing a Major Show...
there's no time to be accessing Patches by pushing buttons on a Sound Module.
Only time to change Patches Instantly... using your "own" Controller!
With all the new MIDI features in REV 2... including CV to MIDI...
there must surely be room for something as basic as MIDI Patch Change?
It is great however... that we now have 100 storable Presets onboard!
Many thanks for that!
Here's one more suggestion though:
- once a Preset is called up... make it tweakable... with the Front Panel Controls...
then be able to save it back into that Patch...
with a specific front panel buttons push procedure.
Also... as before... there still seems to be no way to set the "Under the Hood"
parameters the way you want to use the Minitaur Live... without a
Laptop connected to it... to adjust those? Perhaps these "Under the Hood"
parameters could be saved into each of the 100 Presets... so as to be
specific to each Patch?
So the main idea is for Users to do most of their Presets tweaking at home...
connected to a computer... then take the Minitaur to a Show...
and be able to call up any Preset with MIDI Patch Change...
but be able to tweak and save any of the changes... if needed!
Perhaps these will come soon... in REV 3 ?
Many thanks again for such a small... but mighty Moog Module!

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
have you tried MIDI program change? It works fine.
edit: as long as you are changing to a program that is valid - meaning you must load a preset from the editor to the Minitaur's internal memory first... after that, you can send a MIDI program change and it will load the preset.

Re: Minitaur Rev 2
I haven't used MIDI much, so I don't know how to send a program change from my Alesis Micron (which is what I'm using to control the Minitaur). I made the preset in the Minitaur Editing program along with under the hood settings. I was able to scroll between the two presets that I had made and loaded. The 200% filter tracking doesn't work.
