Minitaur Rack Mount

Post by PortableFishy » Sat Mar 31, 2012 10:55 pm

Hi, has anyone heard of any news for the Minitaur Rack Mount? It would be great if it could be mounted next to a CP-251 or something.

It's the same size and will fit next to a 251

I don't think the cp/vx rack kit is deep enough. At least that is what was being said right before the Minitaur release.

I remember seeing someone had posted a pic of their Minitaur racked but I don't recall if that was here, at VSE or gearslutz. They had a rack that laid back a bit and it was racked next to a 251

This is prolly the pic

I was thinking of how this could get mounted and my only guess is a mount that could hold both a 251 and a minituar with both different depths. Or...maybe they have a plan to make another product that is the same footprint as a minitaur...like an analog sequencer? That would be creamy!

Ah, that looks pretty close! I have a VX-351/VX-352 mounted together and that mount definitely won't fit a Minitaur. Maybe they could make a similar mount that is deeper so that it could fit the Minitaur, and have some "adapters" to fill in the extra depth for one side in case we want to put in a CP-251 or something else there.

Have a look at this thread and read my comments. I may or may not have mentioned it but I had to remove the right 'wood cheek' from the VX-351 to get it to fit in there width wise. Depth, the pictures speak for themselves. I'll shortly be taking my VX/CP rack mount kit to meet my table saw. Will post pictures and DIY information if I ever get to it!

Yep sure was. Not perfectly flat, but who cares. It IS rackable :)

EM I think I do remember you saying something about removing some of the wood to do that, but at least it works.

We do have plans for a rack kit specific to Minitaur. This should be released shortly.

Hope this helps,

I own a Taurus I and 3, but I would still LOVE to see a slimmed-down 1U or even 1/2U version of the Minitaur for live use.

Tabletop stuff just seems amateurish to me. Wall warts? Ugh :(

I sold my Slim Phatty for the same reason; takes up too much rackspace. Im still trying to get the most out of a small (4-6U) rack for gigs. Wouldn't it be nice to get some real analog goodness in a 1U rackspace? Surely im not the only one who feels this way!

Cool. Will it house 1 Minitaur & something else, 2 Minitaurs or just 1? I like the idea of rack mounting a Minitaur alongside one of those other Moog gizmo things!!
