DIY Generation of Negative CV's?

Post by jeepo » Mon Feb 22, 2010 3:33 pm

I just had this idea, and am curious as the whether y'all believe it should work to generate bipolar CV's. Take one 9V battery, then connect two resistors, of equal value, one to positive, the other to the negative, then connect the remaining leads to each other, thus dividing the voltage by two, at the center node, then using this as the ground, then use a pot such that the two outer lugs are connected to the positive and negative of the battery, with the wiper being the output. I believe this should allow the application of voltages from -4.5V to +4.5V, am I wrong in assuming so?

Seems logical enough. Easy to test with a voltmeter...
