MP-201 Power Supply for New Zealand

Post by filosofem » Thu Sep 18, 2014 3:59 am

Hey guys, looking for a little help from my fellow Kiwis or Aussies for either a supplier or manufacturer that can match the power supply specifications of the MP-201?

Hi

Not sure exactly about the 201, your lucky to be able to grab one but I've had success powering other foogers using a 9v power supply from dick smiths here in NZ. It's important the voltage and polarity are correct or you could potential destroy your device, these dick smith ones for about 30 bucks have an interchangeable head with various sizes and reversible polarity and delivered more Amps than required, which is fine, just don't go lower than the amps required. Hope that helps. I'm in Hawkes Bay.

This looks like it will do the trick

Here's what I've been buying for powering a MURF and CP-251

Hey kwtsh, with all due respect, obviously you don't have a MP-201, the power supply requirements for it are not the same as MF's. MF's are VDC and the MP-201 requires VAC at a very specific ampage. But hello fellow kiwi Moog player. 8)

Wow vac, ok, well maybe a European one from http://www.moogmusic.com/products/acces ... ulti-pedal with an adapter? Let me know if you find anything locally, might add a 201 myself sometime. Hi down in Christchurch by the way!

Running a Moog supplied power supply unit with an adapter might be the only way. Good suggestion, kwtsh.
