EP3 question

Can you use unbalanced patch cables with an EP3? I'm using the expression pedal with the CP251.

I don't think so. But I guess it's ok to use the CP with it anyway.

Anyone correct me.

It doesn't sound like a good idea to me, but I don't have anything to back that up with at the moment.
