MP-201 with Line6 M9??

Post by Mooguitar » Fri Jan 07, 2011 7:53 pm

Hi, anyone using the MP-201 with this fx unit?? I am doing some interesting stuff for my smaller rig with this combo.

-using the MP-201 footpedal to address parameters such as wah sweep, pitch bend, ring mod frequency, flanger speed, delay time or feedback, volume.
-using the MP-201 switches to change patches, enable/disable the control pedal, control the M9's 28-sec looper, and for a bonus change channels on my Marshall amp.

I keep finding stuff to use the Mp-201 for. Also very useful for looping with the RC-50, which lets you do a LOT of MIDI control....

can you please tell me how I set up the mp-201 to be used as an expression pedal/looper control for the m9? I'm getting pretty frustrated. :?

easy. Yes, you can use it for the M9.
Just take care CV Voltage isn't higher than 2,40V in unipolar mode and everything is fine.

cheers

@no1000

You have to set up the M9 to respond to the same MIDI channel that you are sending form the MP201
then set up the M9 effect 1, 2, or 3, (or any combo of those) to respond to "exp pedal 1 or exp pedal 2"

Exp pedal 1 corresponds to CC#1
Exp pedal 2 corresponds to CC#2

Now simply edit the patch on the MP201 so that one channel is sending CC#1, and another is sending CC#2

Now you can control one or more of the effect params on the M9 with your MP201
You have to "train" the M9, just like you do with an analog expression pedal -- in other words sweep the pedal to heel position, then tweak the param knob(s) on the M9 patch to where you want it to be for "heel"

then do the same for the "toe" position
