Moog 1125 demo

Post by CZ Rider » Thu Apr 01, 2010 8:00 pm

Just picked up an old classic from Moog, the 1125 sample and hold accessory for the Mini or modular. Been looking for one of these for a long time, but they don't turn up often.

Here is a little 2 minute sample of my first try with one of these. The first sound is patched into the Moog modular, the 1125 is triggering the 911's EG's and modulating the filter, the oscillators are droning a bass tone with a little white noise. A few seconds later the Minimoog blends in with filter modulated by the 1125 and the oscillators are patched from the 1125 through a scale quantizer to force the sample CV's into a musical pattern. Both the modular and Mini are transposed by a CV keyboard. The 1125 is just doing what it does, a random CV pattern. Playing over top is the polyphonic Voyager. Just a live cut of the fun I was having with the 1125 and a few Moogs.

Cool hardware find and nice demo. Has a very TD feel. Gotta get me a quantizer!

Man that is really beautiful. One thing that really grips me about this music is the taste that is executed.

See, I have what I think is a nice, growing Moog system, but your music is just at a calibre that I just haven't been able to get to, whether it is my lack of exposure to those genres of music, my lack of synthesis knowledge or keyboard skills or simply the vintage instrument itself.....I just haven't been able to sequence stuff that has that same flavor or textures or even timbres.

Man that was the type of music that makes me love the tones of the Moogs. THe type of stuff that Mort Garson used to do, the synth grips your ears and really pulls you deeper and deeper into it. My music tends to have much more modern constructs for some reason.

Freaking excellent! No doubt!
Id have to own that....even better on vinyl.
Respectfully,
Eric
