Id like to upload some songs for you guys to take a listen to but I need a program that will convert the files to Mp3.

Does anyone know the names of some good ones that can be found on the Jolly Roger Style or some good freeware versions?

Do you like this one?

I downloaded one before and it converted only half of the song and it was so inaudible it was a horrid mess.

Can you tell me anything about it? Is it like one of those trial based programs?

That's what I've been using lately, it's 100% free and I didn't find any issue yet

Kinda surprised no one suggested Audicity for this. It's a freeware, open source, cross platform app for recording and editing sounds. It will also import/export common audio file types (.wav, .aif, mp3, Ogg Vorbis).

Download it here:

Audacity is a great application but it's not a 'nice' converter. iTunes works best for me, just click and convert..

Hi Maskin,

I'm also an iTunes fan (and a Mac guy to boot!), but what did you mean when you wrote Audacity is "not a nice converter"? Is there some inherent issue I'm not aware of? I've used it for years and never experienced a problem..

It's the inconvenience of opening the application and loading a track (which takes quite a long time). I should also mention the hassle of finding and installing the LameLib file the first time you decide to compress a file to MP3 or OGG. I haven't had any issues with it but for normal user it's not the easiest way to convert a file. ;)

You can follow this one: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/ti ... o-mp3.html It works well for me. Just convert batches of my audio clips to MP3 for sending to my bro by email. That works great!
