Videos: A Lightner Model D and The Mp201 with Minimoogs !

Post by Nick Montoya » Fri Sep 19, 2008 7:11 pm

Hey Moogers..

Here are the two videos I promised. They aren't super informative, nor do they feature any crazy ripping/shredding on the Mini.. But they give a little insight into my Minimoog's special features, as wells as my mini D (and Voyager) paired with the new MP201 Mulitpedal..

Video 1 : Minimoog with color changing wheels -

Video 2 : Quick demo of MP201 with Minimoog and Voyager -

Hope you enjoy!

Hey, Nick! Great videos! At first, I was all, "What do I need one of THOSE for?" Now, I'm all, "Why don't I have one of those?" and "Can I build one for less than half a grand?"

Kewl.
Too bad the video can't catch the quicker flashing.
The lfo is faster than the frame rate and you tube's compression doesn't help.

Sooo.. you'll be paying for these mods soon, right Nick?

Just for public posting's sake, I paid for one of those flashing wheels already and will pay for the other one shortly! ;)

Sorry Kev! I know I know!!

I am SOOOOOOO lucky to have a Synthfool credit card (very hard to obtain BTW) ...

Hi, Kevin! Long time no see! And apparently, Nick is long time no pay! How's everything otherwise? Getting stuff done?

I'm just toying with you Nick.
Your financial situation isn't much different than mine and I understand.

Wheel cost and availability?
I don't know. All the wheels I've made have been done by hand.
I bought a laser to cut them out to sell, but it's just under the power necessary for a clean cut.
So the labor is very high to do them manually and I don't plan on doing any more that way.

Am I getting stuff done?
Yeah, but I'm refusing a lot more because of back problems.
I can't lift many of these instruments any longer.
I'm very glad my wife is by my side to help out though.
But I could really use an apprentice.
Someone to learn this stuff and help, but this a complete fantasy considering the work and where I live.
I see more bears here than aspiring techs. :)

Man, I would give almost anything to be the apprentice of Kevin Lightner. Unfortunately, I seem to have made myself quite comfortable here in Illinois with a cushy, high-paying government job. But talk about a once in a lifetime experience!

I'd be extremely interested in a gig as your apprentice, Kevin --
all I get to play with are new Moogs... :)

Unforunately I'm kind of needed here... and I do love living in the mountain forests. If my situation changes drastically while you still have the strength to mentor someone, I'll let you know.

Amos.. I'm laughing here. :)
You're at Moog.
I think there's more people who'd kill for your job than mine.

Amos DOES have a point, though, Kevin...but then, so do you. Hmm... Interesting...
