Wow! It looks very, very cool. I can think of lots of things I could play with that guitar that I couldn't play with a 'normal' guitar. The sustainer/muter and the built-in filter look great. I'm looking forward to hearing what some of the forward-thinking players do with this (Vernon Reid, David Torn, etc.)

The cons (for me at least!): price, appearance, neck shape. I'm sure the price will come down if the guitar enters regular production. The appearance could be addressed with a different model - single cutaway, no maple tops, etc. The neck shape could also be addressed - on paper it is too thin of a neck for my preferences.

I love how this went from a perceived April Fools joke to a 'gotta have it' instrument.

Well when I saw the april video, I thought it was real because of the fretboard inlays.

It will be a nice collectors item for someone.

I was fortunate enough to play a few of the Moog Guitar Prototypes and I must say, WOW ...

Whats really cool is that you can FEEL the infinite sustain vibrating the guitar, almost violently at times..

For instance, if you strum a really loud chord and set it on a table, the guitar might rattle itself off the table within a few minuets ..

Thats how intense the whole "you can feel it" statement is !! The truth !!

I wonder if it works with an Ebow?

Can I get an eleven-string version?

How about a robotic self-tuning function?

How on earth does it know when to sustain/when to mute? In the video one guy pulls a full neck bend, yet only one note is playing.

Good job, Moog.

A few ways. Both pickups can drive the strings, which means that the strings get excited in different ways depending on the pickup driving it, plus you can blend the two pickups for different sounds. It also has the mute mode, which I haven't seen before. You also have the Moog filter on the instrument.

Yep! I can't help but think about what sort of amazing sounds you could get with the ring mod, delay, murf, and phaser.

I'm curious what they gained by including the filter on the instrument. It seems like you could get the same effect by using a LPF directly after the guitar.

Does the CV in on the pedal only control what the pedal controls?

Part of the "VO POWER" is that it can single out the string you are playing (if you wish).. Just one of the many things you can do..

It really is a "play to believe" sort of instrument, even all the video, specs and so on can't REALLY give you the full impression till you play it ... .

Paul Vo is a genius and spent soooo many years fine tuning this technology!

Talking with Paul, it came up that maybe an acoustic version would give people an even better idea of just how powerful this technology is. The thing about electric guitars is people expect "effects", but on an acoustic with no amp (just full on VO POWER) people would really get it..

It wasn't til I played the Vo with out any amp that I fully understood (at least half way  ) what was happening..

Electro magnetic genius !!
