SAGA

Post by mee3d » Sun May 30, 2004 9:52 am

No one has mentioned the Canadian prog Rock band SAGA (probably for good reason!).

At one time, every single musician played moogs on stage . . . The bass player played a Multimoog (and a Jupiter 8), the singer played a memorymoog, the drummer played a Micromoog, the guitarist a Taurus pedal and Jim Gilmour the keyboard player had a set-up as follows - 3 memorymoogs opposite each other (2 on one side and a mini model D above the other) and in the middle 2 PPG wave 2.3's . . . oh and a Liberation for the solos.

Apparently after some while moog approached them to sponsor them and was told to go away, as they had already bought everything and it was too late . . . in Moogs demise Korg stepped in . . . as they did for all the moog top players, and now they have 8-9 Tritons on stage . . . shame.

Check out the 1983 album 'Heads or Tails' for RAW memorymoog.

There's also a Moog on Morrissey's "The Last of the Infamous Playboys", and "Ouija board, Ouija Board"
