Hello and LP question and Rogue/prodigy music and that's it

Post by moogslob » Wed Apr 30, 2008 3:16 pm

Hey fellow Moogaholics! I've had a MG-1, then Prodigy, then (and now) Rogue starting in '90, and have played them live and in studios as much as the respective bands could stand- My stepbrother recently swapped out his Korg MS2000 and ARP AXE for a LP, and LOVES it so much, I've decided to get one too- I really like the look of the Tribute, so I got one on Ebay- But the guy I bought it from has done NO OS upgrades- I don't want to have to lug around the Rogue just for sample/hold and noise, so am interested in the upgrade- My question is, since this one's still at 1.0, do I have to upgrade it first to 1.2, etc.,etc., before I go all the way to 2.0?
Here's some of my pre LP stuff:
http://www.myspace.com/moped10 ("Scream of Fear" is a Prodigy, "Shock Me" is a MG-1, "Pornamento" is a Radioshack Concertmate through a RAT with the Rogue noise behind it all)
and my more "normal" act:

Thanks! My work network blocks myspace, so when I'm outta here I'll check out your stuff, etc..
Yes, doesn't that Prodigy sound good? I wish I hadn't have sold it, but I'm hoping the LP will bring me back to thickland- The Rogue's great, just a wee bit thin...
I hope the LP's as easy to figure out as everyone says, because it's being delivered tomorrow and I'm going to gig with it Saturday! Wahoo! And I hope I can run the Rogue through it for noise effects, since the Tribute is noise-free, for now at least...

The LP is very easy to get around on, i played one briefly one time at guitar center. Push a button turn the knob. Push it again turn the same knob. Want to go back push the same button turn the same knob again. Its really an interesting interface.

I think i kept the overdrive button on all the time lolol.

Nice sounding synth.

hey great tunes! i sent a friend request to sweaty already, but it wouldnt let send one to moped 10 (some myspace construction). ill try again later.

as for your question... im not certain, since i dont own a LP but i dont see why you couldnt just skip the in between versions. i skip upgrade for stuff on my computer and go straight to the new version. but like i said i dont own one so i cant be certain so i would wait til either someone from Moog responds or some one who has done the upgrades.... hmm i guess that was that helpful. Good music though! :D

OS upgrades

Post by dlearyus » Thu May 15, 2008 7:07 pm

i have done all the OS upgrades in sequence as they were released but from what i can see you should be able to goto at least the current v1.03Tc...as for v2.0 when its released i dunno apparently there will be 2 versions with one requiring a memory upgrade to the LPTE.

Well the seller was mistaken, it wasn't at 1.00, but 1.03, so the issue is m.o.o.t.- think I'm going to leave it be, probably even after the 2.0- you know, "if it aint broke"... I have s-and-h and noise on the Rogue if I really need it...

Or you could purchase a CP-251 for noise and sample & hold + some nice modular capabilities. :)
