OK....I have never seen this asked on any of the synth boards that I watch...maybe I have missed it.
Everyone knows that analog synths have oscillators that drift, particularly the synths that were made 30 years ago.
So why does the A440 tone on my Mini D not drift? I am sure that it must drift slightly, but it always seems to be right on with my digital equipment.
The A440 tone that we hear is from an oscillator, right? So why don't I have to tune it, when I have to tune my Mini D a couple of times a night?

Thanks Bob!!
because is made to give a static pitch. It is not voltage controlled. And the exponential converters of analog VCOs is one major thing causing pitch trouble.
keep on turning these Moog knobs
