Man i just found the site that von haulshoven got the picture from and saw the other images. I think these are real, I just wonder and am very excites about the oficial announcement.Kevin Lightner wrote:Thanks for the pic, Eric.
You gotta admit- that's a pretty decent array of interface jacks for any keyboard synth out nowadays.
I've seen a number of posts of people with modulars who want a decent keyboard controller, so possibly some of Moog's target audience is that crowd.
Can you give me some examples of what you can do with the MP-201?
Eric

I think is a great idea. In some post like "what moog needs to do next" some please (me incluied) talk about some way to "midi" our mooger foogers. I think this new EP is great. I can modulate it with live (or any other DAW). I start making music with VST and all this stuff. With Little Phatty, Moogs gives me the oportunity to have a real analog hardware synth that i can understand and perfectly use with my computer and DAW. With this EP moog gives me the oportunity to became "modular" with my mooger foogers. Think about an Absynth modulating the LP, I just can feel that it will be great (and now with EP I can deep modulate my MFs via Midi). Is the next step.Henfield wrote:I am very disappointed in the MP-201, how many people have been asking for this type of device? Moog could have put out a simple sequencer, Envelope Generator or Pitch to CV in the MF line, a pedal synth or stripped down rack mounted LP, or a ribbon controller. Any of these would satisfy their target market, which is all of us that post in this forum!
The other new product (the Mini OS) i think is great, too. But with no midi and not presets is not for me. But for another people (people that start playing with synths a very long long time ago) is a very good news. This people can have access to a Mini Model D (or remplace their old ones) without paying a lot of money in ebay for a very used synth of the 70s.
I think, all people here are synth players, but there is a lot of kinds of synths player (and with a lot of diferent ages). With LP Moog want to catch new user like me and this year releases want to interest to mid-long term synth players. In all this cases Moog want to makes happy all of us.

1) Here is another new product:
http://www.moogmusic.com/detail.php?main_product_id=110
2) Is it just me, or did the CV inputs on Eric's pic look identical to the "full" Voyager.
3) Without the touch screen and LCD, they were able to space the knobs a bit more.
4) No backlight.
5) Shouldn't it be named "Old Skool", to go with Little Phatty?

I thought that the CV Jacks on the VOS looked Identical to the Voyager too. I was looking to see if they might have added a "Keyboard" output or a "Pitch" output that can also act as an input giving us an "Open SYstem" like my Micro, letting you control other Gear like Modules of MF's without having ALL that the 351 perscribes.
I think that the EtherWave Pro Lmited Edition has been on the site for awhile but I think that its discontinued already. I may be mistaken.
Man I think they should put a USB Port on the Voyager.
Goldphinga,
Can you talk about the 2 products that they have announced? Or are there more? hehhe.

I'm pretty happy with this. I hope that the street price is less than the MSRP. I got my Voyager Sig for 2200, and a Blue for 2200 as well. Without midi/touchscreen I'd hope to actually find one for 1500. That would make me happy.
Still wish they basically made a rack mount one of this that was dead simple

I think that on the high ticket items, you can take about 300 off the price.
Like the Voyager Performer is supposed to go for 2600, but most places sell it for 2800. Sweetwater includes the Gigbag/dustcover so essentially you are getting it for 2600 but paying for the rest.
THe Select goes for around 3200
LP for 1250
RME 2195
comparing that to the Homepage price and I estimate the Voyager OS to be about the same as the RME perhaps.

It's about $2600 No MIDI? Why not? It can't cost that much to include MIDI. Ah well...

THey keep talking about "Enhanced" modulation capabillities. Now Im trying to figure out if it (OS) will do anything that the DigiVoyager wont, or is "Enhanced Modulation Capabillities" just the Voyager's own sales lingo comparing it to the Model D?

midi is for the regular voyager. this concept is nothing digital whatsoever. had to be one or the other, they couldn't exactly make features a la carte.Rogue wrote:http://www.moogmusic.com/detail.php?mai ... t_id=21108
