Questions on connecting to studio monitors

Post by jltimp » Mon Mar 20, 2023 1:22 pm

I've recently purchased a Sound Studio 2 with the Mother 32 and DFAM as my first synths. I want to use these without a computer to just play around with, but have a question about connecting to studio monitors.

I have an extra set of Presonus Eris 5s and and Eris 8 sub I was hoping to use with this setup, but I'm wondering the best way to connect everything.

The summing mixer the sound studio comes with only has a headphone out, where my monitors obviously have trs connections on the back. Rather than using the included summing mixer, should I be looking at getting something like a passive patchbay or something similar? Maybe a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch splitter of some sort? I do have an old Scarlett Solo audio interface, but I believe that needs to be connected to a computer to work.

I'd also like to eventually add effects pedals to the chain.

Any help would be appreciated.
