How important are dust covers for the long-term care of synths? I live in the mid-Atlantic coast of the US and so its not a particularly dusty area. Should I still invest dust covers for my Matriarch and Sub-37 to keep them working and sounding good for years to come?
Or is it really just more of an aesthetic thing? They get a little dusty but not too bad.
Also, is there something about it being analog that makes a dust cover more important than for something like my Korg SV-2 keyboard that is (almost) all digital?

I had this same question so unfortunately I cannot answer it. But I did buy a dust cover for my Subsequent 25.
My guess is that dust can only do harm if it gets into the pot-meters?
Someone from Moog probably knows the answer.
