First Synth, Grandmother or subsequent 32

Post by Steve1986 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 12:17 pm

Hello my name is Steve,

This is my first post here so hopefully i have done it in the correct place,

Basically I am looking at buying my first synth, I am looking at the Grandmother and Subsequent 32, I do like the dirty sound that the grandmother can make, would a subsequent 32 be able to do this as well and more also , I am just trying to work out the best one to get for a beginner. The subsequent 32 does look like it has more functions.

Thank you for your help,

Many Thanks :)
Steve

This is a tough one - I have the Grandmother and I'm considering dumping all the rest of the synths, but you cannot save presets, and it's completely manual. The sound is incredible. However, I am a well-experienced synth user, so the Grandmother was easy for me. If I was a complete newbie, I think I'd get the Subsequent 32, as it has more built-in bells and whistles that will make using it somewhat easier. Hope this helps.
Moog lover.
