Micromoog repair help

Post by Draxsonimy » Wed Apr 19, 2017 11:33 pm

Please remove if in an incorrect area or not allowed. If it's not allowed please point me in the right direction for this question.

Have a micromoog that only generates "noise" via the noise pot.

I have determined (via the manual trouble shooting) that the VCO is defective. Q402 gate 1 is not showing any oscillation.

by testing IC304 it appears the summing network and the current source are functioning.

This leaves me with a "VCO Defective" and a list of IC401, IC402, Q401, Q402, CR401, open R401, or shorted C402

I dont want to just replace every component in the VCO.

Is there any component I should be looking at directly?

Any help or direction would be sooo much help.

Thanks!!

I can walk you through some tests. I have the recent posting on the Micromoog photos. From the link there you can get to my home page which has my email. Contact me off forum and I'll see what I can do.

I have the EXACT same problem! Below is a link to a Reddit thread I started, though I still haven't solved the problem.
