Hi folks,
My Minimoog Model D (s/n 10,000+) has developed a fault with the MOD WHEEL. It only produces a slight quasi-distortion when engaged (rather than the correct VIBRATO FX). Other than this it seems to be fine.
I contacted Rudi Linhard (Germany) but he only performs a full restoration (rather than individual faults). Seems a nice guy though!
Is there a trusted/respected engineer in the UK (pref. North West) would anyone happen to know of please? Not sure of what the cause is or if it's an expensive fix?
Many thanks in advance . . .
Best,
Paul David Seaman

Hi Paul,
I could have a look for you.
I have four Minimoog's and have always done my own repairs on all my gear.
I'm in Rochdale - PM me your number if you're stuck.
Cheerz,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Happy New Year mate and I hope the music is going well.
Oh really? I assumed you used an engineer or otherwise. Did you study electronics or just pick it up?
Cheers,
Paul

I studied electronics and got my City & Guilds in television repair back in the '70's.
I restored (and customised) my Modular Moog myself as well...

Wow!
Ok, do you think I would have to leave the machine with you, or can you do it while I wait? I mean, have you heard of this issue before and if so, is it a complex bugger?!
Cheers.

Haven't a clue without seeing it.
I could run a couple of tests initially while you wait if I have time when you bring it... would only know then really.

Ok, cheers.
I am still full of an awful flu bug so it will have to be after then, plus I would not want you to catch it!
I also wanted the PITCH RIBBON on my MultiMoog disengaging if that is something you have done before?
