On my Voyager Electric Blue the cursor button is dead or stuck.
I can't change patches anymore, the arrow buttons only move the banks. Also it's not possible to edit any functions that require the cursor button.
Can this be a software problem? If yes, what to do?
Or if it's a hardware problem - can I exchange the button myself?
Thanks and kind regards
PJ Wassermann

Re: Voyager: cursor button dead
I'd suggest getting in touch with Moog technical support first.
Is your Voyager still under warranty?
Even if the warranty has expired, I'd ask Moog for advice first. In my experience they are always helpful and could point you to the nearest repair center.
I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron but there's no way I would consider replacing the button myself unless it was the absolute last resort. I suspect it would be hard to find exactly the right button anyway.

In my understanding, this can be a hardware problem that doesn't need soldering, you do need to have the original replacement part. It might have a very low price, so Moog might even send it to you as a gift.
But, doing the job might be quite difficult and risky withouth previous knowledge of servicing the Voyager, since you need to dissasamble most of the unit to get to that spot
Ask Moog anyway, don't take anything you read here as an official advice.

The exception to this is if you get a reply from "RL" who wrote the software for the Voyager. He is qualified to distinguish between a hardware vs software malfunction.bichuelo wrote:Ask Moog anyway, don't take anything you read here as an official advice.
Sometimes Amos will also reply, but over the last few years it seems that Moog has transitioned away from answering these questions on the forum and prefers to resolve these directly.
