Model 15 and recording MPE polyphonic legato in a DAW

Post by Stelvio » Thu Sep 01, 2016 2:43 pm

Hi!

I'm fairly new to IOS music making,
I got an iPad mostly for the polyphonic per note modulation work from various inspiring developers and for Lemur.
I'm considering getting Animoog Model 15 cause it seems to be just amazing. I'm still confused about the connectivity aspect of the PME types of events though.

Basically what happens if I play the model 15 with the MPE keyboard, tweak some knobs and record that in Ableton (via USB and Studiomux)? Will it record the whole MPE multidimensional per notes expressivity and play it back ok? When playing it back will we still hear the custom scales, pitch correction and polyphonic legato?

If yes (which I really hope), can I then edit those modulation envelopes in Ableton? (I'm guessing no)

I understand it's not possible to use the multidimensional MPE keyboard to control VST synths and expect it to behave like played.
Would be curious to know if some VST synths support the same kind of multidimensional expressivity or it's they're coming soon?

Thanks a lot for any help.
