Moog font "O"
Moog font "O"
I saw a listing of what fonts were used in synthesizers and someone referenced the "musical note embedded in the O" in "Moog". It may be highly stylized but I can't make a musical note out of it! I've stared at it for 30 years and can't place what it represents. Am I being thick?

Re: Moog font "O"
No I don't think so. With all due respect, I do not see semiquaver beams or flags. Primarily because it is described as being a note, not the beams of a note.
I think it is either a stylized Minim (half note) or, if not the minim, perhaps a Long. Here is a visual list of symbols for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_m ... _and_rests

Thanks all for the info, folks. It IS highly stylized, so it's still fuzzy but I accept the description! Now I can stare at it another 30 years and try to resolve a musical note out of it! (squinting probably helps)
Re: Moog font "O"
It's a note with the stem folded in on itself.

It's the umlaut (in stylised form) that indicates how to pronounce "Moog" properly.
