Hallo,
the tracking of my Minimoog Model D when played over the internal keyboard is quite good.
but when i want to control it from an external keyboard the tracking isn´t, the spread is too big..
higher notes are too high and so i have to attenuate the signal first.
i couldn´t find anything in the manual. is there a trimmer for that anywhere?
if i don´t always want to attenuate the incoming signal i guess i would have to solder a small
resistor between the plug and the lead i guess? (not sure if i would like to do that.. but would
be much more comfortable afterwards).
also checked the incoming midi/cv voltage and it´s exactly 1v/oct.
help appreciated
cheers, patilon

Re: Minimoog Tracking wrong when controlled from CV/Gate
Assumptions (I'm not a Minimoog owner):
Perhaps your internal keyboard based V/Oct creation is not adjusted to exact 1V/Oct, and this is compensated by the expo converter adjustment which is calibrated to work in the opposite direction. Or the input buffer of the external CV does not amplify properly. In these cases an internal recalibration is necessary.
An external resistor in your input plug is the same like attenuation. That should work also, but attenuation via patch panel / pot is more flexible if you want to process CVs with other spreadings.

>Perhaps your internal keyboard based V/Oct creation is not adjusted to exact 1V/Oct,
ah.. thanks for the hint! this could be the problem as well actually.
someone knows how to check if the internal keyboard sends the correct voltage?
not sure, if i would check it these days, but as soon as i´d have to calibrate the tuning
(which as to be done in a period of about 2 years)
>An external resistor in your input plug is the same like attenuation.
i know. but i wouldn´t need an additional attenuator for it. perhaps my short-term solution
would be to make an adapter-cable with the adequate restitor in it. but being able to check
weather the keyboard works correctly of course would be great as we..
