Hy guys..

yes, its really happened.. i am a postman and work all day long on the streets..so at saturday i had the unbelievable luck to find a Mini behind a Organ on the street..couldn´t believe my eyes!!!!

So happy with it, but there is only one problem...

The whole left hand control ist unfunctional..the pitchblend/modulation wheel glide and decay switch doesn´t work...
I already opened up, to see, if the connector is not connected, but thats not the problem...

Ah, there also was an Roland MPU 101 with cables, that i took with me..probably the moog was always driven by the 101 and the previous owner had no need to play the pitch/modulation?!?

Or is there probably a mod to run the mpu 101 and losing the possibility to have the left hand control?

I hope you can help me with this..
Still very happy about the best thing that happened in my life :-)

I must report that I left my Mini on the street behind an organ. It had a nonfunctioning LHC. It was sitting beside a Roland MPU 101 with cables.

Seriously....CONGRATULATIONS! Wow! I bet every day you will check that spot for something else. Will you say anything to the owner?

That guy had just come back from a gig and was making room in his house for the organ and Moog.
Seems you got there just at the right time, when he was inside and his back was turned..!

i forgot to say, the Moog was on the garbage ;-)

Anyone who knows what the problem is?

If the whole left hand control is not functional, it must be a connection thing?!?

What a score, the type that only happen in synth dreams lol.

Check the big square cinch jones connector, it might just be oxydized... I've had two different minis with the same problems and cleaning this jack did the trick on both.

Amazing story !
Congratulations!

Would certainly watch that route for some time, who knows what they might throw away next time
Maybe a system 55?
Best wishes for the orphant-mini
Pictures of the little one would be nice indeed

You are absolutely right. It isn't worth anything close to 10K.

A friend of mine owns a model D he got second hand on 1981. The first oscillator never worked and he treated the synth really bad. It is so ruined right now that a repair would be way too pricey, and I don't think you could get more than a couple hundred of bucks, for the handful of spare parts you can use.

I saw one in similar conditions once on eBay and it was sold for $250

Just sayin'

Actually, buy it for $250, put a $1000 into restoring it, sell it for $5000, make a $3,750 profit, not bad! 8)
