Supplier of 7906 TO-3

Post by rarecomponent » Mon Jun 29, 2015 10:59 am

I've posted this on Muff Wiggkler but I'm looking for a supplier of 7906 TO-3 package
I got some off e bay marked as 7906(on top of regulator) but they output -9. to -10v no where near -6v
I cannot find any others in the UK

I found this: (don't know if they ship to UK though)

http://www.intertexelectronics.com/IC-7 ... P9848.aspx

This part is usually difficult to find, especially in TO-3 package. Not as standard as -5V regulator.

Thanks ..I got that site but cannot get passed checkout..

I've been told the 7906 may need a load draw before they regulate properly ..I'll check this and re post.

But I found little diode can supply them on request

Usually a voltage regulator, regulates voltage and current regardless of load.

If yours outputs -9V to -10V without a load, it is probably a Chinese remarked 7909 as 7906 and sold as one without any scrupules.

I think you are correct...load makes no difference...

I suspected these parts were 7909....I guess they are even though they are clearly marked 7906.

But I've ordered from Little Diode just now and I'll see if these are the real Mcoy
