Im having a batch of model D stands and metal backs built.
The guy that makes them is slightly $$$ but does a great if not perfect job.
Either way I need one and a friend needs one.
Can any one find the time to scan your moog prop, stand and email me it?
please and thanks!
Can you scan your model D stand?
Re: Can you scan your model D stand?
Here are the measurements:
3" x 5" piece of 1/16" (0.0625") metal, probably aluminum
Corner cuts are 1/4" x 7/8" (0.25" x 0.875")
Bends are 1/4" (0.25") from long edge, bent up 1/8" (0.125"), leaving 2.5" x 5" unbent surface
Hinge is 2.5" x 0.5"
I have some photos somewhere, but no scans.
How much will they be? I was on the verge of making one, but if these will be made, I'll buy one instead.
Thanks

Re: Can you scan your model D stand?
Ill get a quote, the guy is not cheap but the work is killer.
Ill post a photo of the mini moog back metal (The actual metal case!!!). it was well over $100 USD.
he used brushed aluminum, welded sides. Its not rounded but it looks good.
Ill be picking it up in the next few days, perhaps Monday and will post photos of the work and get the estimate for the backs.
So far I have me and another guy and who else for the metal kick stand?
Ill charge $11 over the cost that I pay to cover shipping.

Re: Can you scan your model D stand?
I dont suppose any one wants to send one to the welding shop so he can make copies?
Ill have 10 built and share.
I can also provide references on gearsluts (5+years) ebay 20 years, reverb 1 year.
I bet the welder can just use my mini moog and figure something with the stand if he has the moog in front of him.
Also I have some in Oak for $1 plus shipping when I get my case back I will have those built.
I prefer the wood look but yadda yadda... the wood is so cheap to make.

Re: Can you scan your model D stand?
Sorry I can't risk shipping mine.
Just curious, but with thealien666's photos and the actual measurements listed above, why is the real piece even needed by your manufacturer? It's one piece of metal with 4 angle cuts, 2 bends, and 2 holes to mount the hinge.

I think Jaythejunkie means the whole back panel cover, and not just the metallic holding tab...

Ah, I missed that. I thought the back was completed already.
Thanks for clarifying thealien666, and thanks also for those great photos. Interesting that the bends on your stand are a little different than SN1850.

You're welcome. And thank you for taking the time to measure your tab and write it down to share with us !
My Mini's serial is 69XX. So I guess that metal tab has evolved somewhat over the 10 years of the production run of the Minimoog.

Re: Can you scan your model D stand?
yeah the entire back panel was over $100++. but it was no expense held back. my welder is first class and did an amazing job down to the ossolerator screw holes, brushed aluminum. (If any one wants one its for cost only)
I handed him the photos and dimensions and yes thank you thealien666 for the detailed info.
We can work off the photos and my mini and the dimensions.
I'm sure it will make every one happy.
I have three being built and the time is one month because he only does these huge jobs so mini work is his down time.
I will post photos when I get the first job back, I looked at it and it was amazing I was real impressed super big time.
But he had my mini to work with.
I guess this is super easy work for an actual welder,
All is well.
