...the Voyager, or Model D when raising and lowering the panel. Its just that someone can easily lose their fingers down there if they are not careful...

I've never heard of it happening tho I suppose it could if one had their hand there and just let the panel drop from its full up position. I've never even pinched my finger in there as I hold the panel in the center of its top edge when raising and lowering it.

These may be the same folks that slam their fingers in car doors.

I think most drum hardware is more dangerous.

Yeah, but either way, there is always the possibility someone could get their fingers stuck, maybe they could include some safety device? I suppose that would be unlikely, and people will have to exercise extreme caution when lowering the panel. Although that in itself will be too extreme.
