Get those heads demagnetized and everywhere in the transport system where the tape touches cleaned also.

I did this through the decades more often than needed, but also an advice for everyone else:
The heads should be cleaned as often as possible because thery`re emeried heavily from the matal surface of the tape by constant using !!!!!
