New ExperimentalSynth.com website

Post by ChrisStack » Thu Jan 17, 2013 2:07 am

Just a quick note to let you know that I have redesigned the Experimental Synth website. Lots of Moogy videos and more, organized for your viewing pleasure.

Check it out at http://www.experimentalsynth.com

What do I mean by "and more", you ask? How about the letter about Bob Moog from 1964 that Jon Hassell sent me?

Enjoy,

Chris

Awesome site, but when I pull the menu's down, they're hidden behind the YouTube screen. Enjoyed the vids, very nice set up and playing, but would love to dig in deeper if I could see the menu's. Thanks.

I've had a couple of reports of weird menu behavior. Are you on Firefox on a PC?

I love the site, but just like ricknboogie, I am having the drop down menu issue, behind the youtube embed.

I am using Firefox 16.0.2 on Windows 7.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I may know a work-around. I'll try to get it in place this weekend. In the meantime, here are a few interesting direct links for those hit with the menu problems...

Chris,
Very nice looking site. You have enough keyboards there to justify a cape.

Nicely organized space.

Well... people in capes did influence my musical direction quite a bit.

A big milestone in my life was when I realized that I liked my keyboard setup better than Rick Wakeman's spread on the Six Wives album.

Of course, my chops are a different story ;)

I love the totally unnecessary plasma bulbs.
Every synth studio needs one of the following;
  • Lava Lamp
    Christmas Lights
    Plasma Bulb
    Jacobs Ladder
Taurus III, Digitone, Dark Energy, OB6, MG1, Grandmother, Blofeld

The Fooger vids are great. Sadly, I sold my Bass Murf years ago, but still have a freq box and ring mod. Someday, when I finally get the CV out mod done to my LP, I'll be able to use them. For now, they sit unplayed, because they are, (or seem to be) of limited use without a synth with CV outs.

Yeah... CV Outs are a great expressive tool. You may have already seen this, but here is a video I made on the LP w/CV - Moogerfooger connectivity back when I was working at Moog...

They are not limited without CV outs on your synth. Take some of the outputs and plug them into the pitch input or filter input of the LP. Also, with a CP-251, you'd be able to MAKE a basic synth with CV outs, though I use mine for audio processing. Here's some footage of the MF-102, 103 and CP-251 bending the LP's sound with a bit of the Taurus thrown in.
