Very sad. I was lucky enough to see him, and his daughter, in 2010 at the Royal Festival Hall in London for the premier if his Symphony.

Huge influence on many musicians from many different parts of the world.

If you are talking about Anoushka, she sure is beautiful.

Thanks to George Harrison for making him popular in the west.

It is very sad to have lost the greatest sitar player ever. He could have made the LEV 96 sound truly amazing had he not died. But, 92 years is a very long time to live, and he lived his life to the fullest. :(
Minitaur, CP-251, EHX #1 Echo, EHX Space Drums/Crash Pads, QSC GX-3, Pyramid stereo power amp, Miracle Pianos, Walking Stick ribbon controller, Synthutron.com, 1983 Hammond organ, dot com modular.

He was the most popular sitar player in the western world, but far from the best. I have seen quite a few that were better. He did learn from one of the greatest musicians that has ever existed, Baba Allaudin Khan, Ali Akbar Khan's father and guru. RIP though to a great musician.

Shoot, Ravi even looks old in the George Harrison Concert For Bangladesh (from the '70s.) He lived a very long life, and was one heck of a Sitar player. The best I've heard by far!
Little Phatty Stage II, Minitaur, MF-105, MF-103, MF-102, MF-101, Mesa/Boogie Mark IV, EVH 5150III 50 Watt, EVM12L Speakers, ESP Eclipse-II FR, USA Charvel So-Cal, Squier Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster, Alesis MidiVerb 4, and tons of Electro Harmonix.

My thoughts exactly. Most popular, far from the best, done the most to promote awareness of Indian Classical music.

Say hey to George for us bro.
