You seem to have a great talent at drumming my friend ! I just wish I could hear all your intricacies a little clearer. Quality drum mics aren't that expensive anymore.
But, nevertheless, very intensive and dynamic performance in both videos. Kudos, from another fellow drummer !

Thanks man. I appreciate it a lot!!!
I used to record with better gear, but I prefer one mic to avoid spending time mixing. I cant stand listening to my own recordings. 5 minutes tops, then move on and try to forget it.

Very nice Greg! Although I usually despise digital samplers, you've managed to get very nice timbres out of them. :D

And before anyone comes bashing me on this, I dislike samplers because people who use them generally don't take the time to program good timbres and good sounds out of them, and rely on badly looping, over-used crappy default sound banks.

Nice! I also like Lights.Out.Noise. Generally, I like that you're not using stereotypically "analog" sounds except maybe the bass.

I've had a bear of a time learning how to use my Octatrack, but I feel like I'm coming out the other side of that tunnel. 8)

Here's my latest video creation and probably one of my most 'normal' pieces of music, for me that is! 8)

All of the music was done with a Novation Ultranova, Korg microSTATION and a small modular synth. Vocals by Veela assembled from her loop collection.

^ That was (still is) totally beautiful. It brought my soul closer to warmth than it's been for a while.

Two guitarists and myself. This is a section of a jam from earlier in the month. Lots of effects on the guitars. I am playing a machinedrum, Simmons SDS400, and a x0xb0x fed in to the octatrack mainly used as a mixer and effects box (occasional sample triggered).

Last saturday, I went to see an old friend I started a band with almost 20 years ago.
He changed his way of making music: he now write everything with cryptgraphy methods and generate harmonies/melodies out of maths and an initial scale.
I improvised some Phatty + EHX DMM + EHX POG (in the DMM feedback loop) over his ProTools played composition.

Here it is: Origami.

Feel free to listen to more of what he does :)

This has been brewing for about two months: http://soundcloud.com/dswo/packing. The first half is a Dave Smith Tetra and one of my favorite iPad synths, Sunrizer. Moog Sub Phatty comes in about halfway through.

Very discreet synthesizers (Korg and MG-1) but still a nice song. Composed by me (music and lyrics), arranged and interpreted by my best friend Bernard Sénécal on vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. I play the synths.
Inspired by the premature death of my beloved mother, from cancer at age 58, back in 1998.

Recorded and produced in 2000.
Thanks for listening/watching.

Enjoy!

Alain.
