Hello all...
Back in 1986 I wrote and recorded a soundtrack for a video. In one section of the video, the guy wanted "despair". So, using only my Memorymoog+ (I added the "+" mod earlier that same year) and a drum box (Roland 808) I came up with this simple piece. I must have fulfilled his expectations of "despair" - I got paid! :D

Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK8jEIdw5ws

Cheers,
Greg

Thanks Colorform2113! :D

@Greg

That couldn't possibly be a Roland (TR) 808 drum machine. Sorry. That machine doesn't offer samples and sounds very different than this... This sound very much like a Sequential Circuit Drumtraks, or possibly some other sampled based drum machine.

As for the working title: Pure Moog, since the Memorymoog uses Curtis oscillators, Curtis envelopes, Curtis VCA, and only the Moog ladder filter, it isn't as pure a Moog as it could be...

And that song reminded me of the song Brazilian by Genesis (on the album Invisible Touch that came out that year also), especially the mid part towards the end...

Great sound quality nevertheless, and great music also...

Great stuff...... Greg. Genesis with a hint of Eddie Jobson (UK) and Jim Gilmour (SAGA).

SAGA used up to 3 Memory Moogs on stage during the 80"s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-9qNUTpFT0

Saw them open up for Jethro Tull. They are all very good musicians and play multiple instruments.

I did this one to help me fall asleep. Kind of repetitive, but in a good way I think.

Thanks, Alain! I'm planning on retracking it when I get a MIDI to CV converter, so I can sync the Polysix arp and add some sequenced drum stuff too. FYI, "Montana" is the one directly beneath the new one, and I wrote it about my ex-wife... Kinda emotionally heavy, but I'm pretty excited about it. I'm an awful singer, too, so be warned.

This is a collaboration between SynthManiaDotCom (on YouTube) and me, pending approval by the original author.

I'm making it available here for privileged private access with the link below, until final approval.

It consists of an Oberheim DMX drum machine, a Minimoog D for Taurus-Like bass, Prophet 5 for chords and manual arpeggio, and finally my humble contribution with my own Minimoog D playing 3 separate lead parts.

Enjoy. Comments, good or bad, welcome.

Hi there,
As our equipment is 90% analog, i think it is a good idea to post our soundcloud link here:
https://soundcloud.com/kompress-r

Perhaps you can guess, which of the three tracks is made with the help of all the three giants: Moog Voyager, DSI Prophet 08 and Oberheim SEM. Take your chance!

Best regards,
Chevy (member of Kompressør)

This is more romantic than classical: https://soundcloud.com/dswo/stringwrap. Recorded in one take with a Dave Smith Tetra, using one of the factory patches that ships with the unit.

Hi everyone!

I just released my album, Connection. It's melodic synth music à la Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream etc. It's all made with modular and analog synths. My Voyager XL is heavily used. You can listen to the entire album right here: http://www.nomatisan.bandcamp.com

Sounding good, Nomatisan! Thanks for sharing.

That soft lead about two minutes into "2nd connection" is captivating. Such a beautiful timbre, and the melody is so........mysterious. I am really enjoying this. :D
