I'm probably not the first to see this, but I didn't see a post about it here so I thought I'd open one up for speculation. How do you think it will differ from the MF104z?

I hope this doesn't mean there is an apparent backlog?

Re: New Delay from Moog
Hey fellow Moog-a-holics!
One of the Facebook teaser photos of the back connections showed a MIDI port, so I'm guessing that means it's an Analog Delay with MIDI Clock Sync. (MIDI Clock Sync. is a must for me). If it does have this feature, I can see it taking over the delay duties from my digital Korg KP3 Kaoss Pad (The Kaoss Pad would still make a good MIDI clock source/sampler/reverb unit though).
What other reasons would there be for a MIDI port? Receiving other CC Messages I guess? It seems to me the most likely answer is MIDI Clock Sync.

David Smyth

Re: New Delay from Moog
Also wondering what they have designed with the external loop (is there one?). I think they got the first 104 wrong because its only the 2nd and following delays which are through your external fx - the first delay is 'dry'. Seems to me even the first delay should go through your fx. Of course you can fix that at a mixing console with sends, but the external loop is such a great idea yet not quite right.
OK, its got a midi port. But what is the delay mechanism? Assuming its not a mercury bath or tiny tape machine in there, is it BB or digital?

I've stopped talking now.
Re: New Delay from Moog
There appears to be a loop.
If you look here: http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.ph ... 4&start=45 you'll see the jack layout, and there is an 'insert' jack which appears to accept a TRS (standard insert).
As for whether or not it's analog or digital, etc. They deem it an "ANALOG DELAY" so my guess is (again, no inside information here), they picked up a buttload of Panasonic chips when they began production of the ClusterFlux or got there hands on some other BBDs and are using that. With a max delay tim of 600ms or just slightly more, this is on par with the "Z" and others such as the Diamond Memory Lane 2. At a somewhat longer 'lo-fi' setting it will get twice that.
I'm sure full specs will be published next week.
