Sub P. editor is in the hizzy.
yes!!! ![]()
Just got it up and running, this will be very cool. Can’t wait for some preset packs to come out, but seems the Beta Team already put some in there so well worth the wait. Now this and my Virus TI are unstoppable.
How do you have yours setup? Mine’s telling me that the hardware is disconnected, and it also keeps crashing and force quiting. =/
Windows 7/32. USB. Using the stand-alone. No trouble to report although I’m still sorting out how it works. The ‘prefs’ button is right-side, about halfway down and has the MIDI communication settings.
Hi there,
Big trouble with the editor on my unit.
I can load or save patches with the Standalone editor (W7/64 bits) but no communications between the knobs on the editor and my Sub Phatty, it doesn’t work.
I checked the prefs and everything is ok but if i turn any knob on the editor, i have absolutely nothing on the SP. Any help? Thanks in advance.
anyone try out the 64bit vst yet? from what it says it seems you have to disable midi in daw and load vst onto an instrument or external audio track.
I’m excited to use this, too, but it keeps quitting before I can. Anyone else on MAC using OS 10.6.8 successful in using the editor? I am able to choose the sub phatty in the MIDI in and out in the editor prefs. After a second, it crashes and quits. Maybe there’s a fix someone has thought of already?
I’m the same but honestly, I don’t know how it’s supposed to work. From my experience with DSI stuff, I’m used to the knobs not turning in both places except when the wind’s right. What I’ve been doing is downloading the patch from the Sub Phatty, tweaking, saving, then sending it back up. I’m assuming in a perfect world the two devices will be more interactive but in the meantime, getting the whole scene at a glance is a step up for me. I haven’t tried it as a VST yet which I imagine would have to be more interactive but not my use case.

I finaly found the solution, now it works!
Choose Midi Channel 1.
My unit had Channel 2 and it seems that the Standalone editor ONLY works with Channel 1.
i am using windows 7 64 bits and when i use the editor in stand alone it is working perfectly but i got a problems when i try to use it in vst version ,the preferences are not kept and of course the editor vst is useless .i am trying to figure out what is wrong.any help is welcome.
I had the same problem until I started the editor when the Sub Phatty was already turned on and connected. You may try that
Many problems here also. I keep getting a “hardware disconnected” message at the left side of the prefs screen (Firmware: …) randomly.
The system is running on Windows 7/64, so I have to disconnect my Subphatty from the DAW’s midi in and outs and only use the editor’s Midi i/o instead. But then I can neither give record any note- midi messages from the DAW nor record any playable automation! Amos, please help!!

Thanks Rob but as i said i finaly found the solution. My SB had Midi Channel 2 and the Standalone editor ONLY works with Channel 1. Pretty weird… There is no communications between the knobs & the Standalone editor if the unit is not configured to receive on Channel 1.
Would be great to correct this in the future.
Maybe you didn’t set the Editor to use Channel 2 in the Prefs, at first? I am using the Standalone editor with my Sub Phatty on Channel 2, no problem. Just had to set MIDI In/Out to 2 in the editor preferences page and it’s working fine, for me. Win7/x64
Amos,
Can you tell us what the expected behavior is? Any difference between the stand-alone tool and the plug-in? When you turn a knob on the editor the change should reflect live in the sound? Likewise, if you turn the knob on the Sub, the knob should move on the editor? Personally, I see the first but not the latter. I should mention, when I first load the stand-alone tool, when I change presets, the knobs and lights in the editor move to match. After a few minutes of changing patches though, the sound changes but the screen does not.
Thanks,
-CCQ-

Hi Amos and thanks for your reply.
You right, at first i didn’t set the editor to use the midi channel. This is something that i did before, directly on my SB with the Shift Function.
Indeed, at that time the editor was not released so i set the midi channel available regarding my Midi set up, and it was channel 2.
Then i installed the Editor and of course in the prefs page the channel for both Midi in & out was 2 but no communications at all between both pannels (Editor&SB) until i changed to Midi In CH1.
Now if i want to set another channel than 1 on my editor, it’s exactly the same, there is no actions between the knobs on the Editor and the Hardware so in my case it only works with CH 1.
Is this a bug or something? I’m only using the USB port to work with the editor, no Midi cables connected.
loving the update and editor; no problems except i haven’t slept since it got em’.

Anyone having any luck using it on a Mac? I have tried making sure my SP is on channel 1. I can launch the software and it stays open fine at first. As soon as I set the the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT in the prefs, it will pause, then just quit, every time. I have tried different USB cables, USB ports, rebooting, yada yada. Maybe there’ a magic solution (mac os 10.6.
? I’m not using a hub.
P.S. I just tried using the VST version of the editor in Ableton Live. The same thing happens there. As soon as I set the MIDI I/O in prefs of the Moog plug-in, it shuts Ableton down. The same is true for the standalone editor here. Fingers crossed for a fix…
