Wood Side Panels, anyone?

Do we want wood side panels?

  • Yes, wood
  • No, rubberized

Since my last poll on this forum seems to be doing well, I thought I’d bring up cosmetics. Who wants these pedals to match their Voyagers/Moogerfoogers?

They should make wood sides an option. Yes.

I have two for wood sides…one of those is mine. :sunglasses:

Wood! Naturally…

What did the Original Have.
Im for the original specs.

V, if the original was particleboard what on earth would you do?

Eric

i’ve got a feeling it was particle board and fake veneer, definitely something i wouldn’t want (yuck).

I vote for wood.

Well, I think weight is an important factor… I wouldn’t want 2 kg more if it is not needed…

That is correct on both accounts. :open_mouth:

Don’t start with me…I’m trying to be good. I didn’t mention your Micromoog when I responded to your post in the Voyager forum. I could have though…it was off to the right in the picture and the side panels were facing right at me…taunting me.

I highly doubt that wood panels would make that much of a difference in weight. 2kg is equal to 2 Liters of water, and the LPTE sides don’t have THAT much mass. :open_mouth:

I’d kinda just like them to look like the originals. Wood seems like overkill.

Are you suggesting that the Moogerfoogers’ wood sides are overkill? They are just effects pedals, after all. Seriously, though. Why would wood sides be overkill?

Yeah wood has the advantage of being gig-worthy, and when it gets tatty, replaceable. Also these things will be quite heavy i realise, but surely that’s better than having some lightweight thing moving across the stage as you stomp on it?

Moogerfooger pedals are not just effects pedals.

Well, I don’t know, I guess you could look at a set of Taurus pedals as just, like, a really big moogerfooger…

Would rubber be more gig-worthy, as well as being more protective?

In some ways - although my rubberised OSCar synth looks good, it’s actually not that tough. Also, if they do get damaged there’ll be no way to replace them.

Don’t forget that if the wood gets scratched, it can be sanded and refinished quite easily.

Like I said… make wood sides and option. Those who want wood can get it, and those who dont can have whatever material Moog decides as standard. You get 7 different cabinet choices on the Voyager, why not just have wood as the only other option for the Taurus pedals. Great topic Voltor07!
