Will resetting the LP fix my problem?

Hey everyone,

I created a sound on the LP that I was super happy with and made a rough recording of. Stupidly though I decided to calibrate and tune the LP without saving the sound (I thought I could easily get it again). So I can tweak all I want but because originally the LP wasn’t in perfect tune etc, I can’t get the sound the same because it was a product of things being a little off.

anyway, question being: If I do a factory restore or reset whatever, can I put everything (including tuning etc) back to how it was when I got it?

no, there is no “un-calibrate” option on the LP. A factory restore only restores all the presets to factory default and resets the global (master menu) settings. It doesn’t affect the calibration.

However, the calibration doesn’t affect too many things. Just the overall pitch of each oscillator, the tuning of osc2 relative to osc1, pitch bend amount, and keyboard tracking. So, if you listen to your rough recording you should be able to make small adjustments until you get your sound back.

I have had this frustrating experience many times… it can be difficult to find your way back to a certain sound, but it can be done. A/B compare constantly between your recording and your LP. once you get the sound roughed in, you might want to go into Precision Mode to make very small changes to things like the osc2 frequency, to get as close as possible to your original sound.

Good luck!

Thanks Amos! I haven’t dabbled with precision mode that much, but I got the sound relatively close before. So that’s probably the key to the fix!
