Why have I never seen an Australian Redback Edition anywhere ever?

Seriously.

There are no Youtube videos of one anywhere. The only google images are the same promotional images:

Has anyone ever even bought a Little Phatty “ARE” EVER?

Can anyone on here confirm that it even “exists”?

pretty sure the phatty that I first played was a redback one. It was at Billy Hyde in Flemington, Vic AUS (i.e. just down the road from me).

I’m also pretty sure I’ve seen one in AWAVE in South Yarra.

I have never seen one.

But still, I believe that you have seen one and played one, but there still isn’t pictures of one anywhere from anywhere in Australia or anywhere else!

Would just love to see a real picture to know that it is real and exists! :slight_smile:

I always thought it was a kinda odd special addition, especially given it’s an American company. Maybe someone at Moog has an arachnid fetish?

If I’m ever in Awave of BH with a camera i’ll take a snap to prove they exist for you!

I was looking at a LP a while back and bought a Voyager instead. The ARE is stupidly expensive (retail) in this country and is AU$2,099 (US$2,210) RRP. Of course, street price is somewhat different, but even still, the standard Stage II is a better choice. Spiders? Really? Uhmm… OK :confused: Whatever

I agree. The Little Phatty ARE is ridiculously expensive!

I never understood that either.

I know it does look sweet.

But really I have a Little Phatty Stage II CV (Red):

and the only real difference between the one I have and the ARE is the black “spider” design detail on the back and the red LCD!

I’m happy with my Little Phatty Stage II CV. I don’t need black spider stripes on the back and I’m fine with a white LCD! : )

I think the ARE had a flashing mod wheel too.

When i purchased my LP, i wanted an ARE but could not justify the cost. I’m pretty sure they sound the same. the standard LP sII i purchased cost me AUD$1200, the list price of the ARE was $2099 :astonished:

The ‘ARE’ was commissioned by Louis who owns AWAVE. He is also the wholesaler for MOOG in Australia. I managed to pay much less than the listed price so always haggle with your sales person.
