I have a powered USB2 hub that does not work with my Slim or Minitaur going into my newer Macbook Pro.
Has anyone had good luck with their USB hub? Is there a specification I should be looking for when purchasing a hub?

I am using IOGear 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Powered hubs. They are compatible with USB 2.0. I have never had a problem with them. I’m using them with Windows machines so I can’t say if they work well with Macs.
Powered hubs sometimes can’t handle the load if all ports are in use. Try with just one device attached and see if you are still having a problem. If it works with one device then it’s a power issue and you may be able to resolve it by daisy chaining a powered hub to another powered hub.
