Hi, where does everyone sell their expensive synths? I would do ebay, but I don’t like scams and commission fees.
I want to sell my arp 2600+3620 to pick up an electric blue voyager. The problem is the arp is mint w/$2000 worth of mods, 2 footswitches, all manuals, service manuals, patchbooks. I need to get my money out of it.
Try craigslist. They are online classifieds and they have them for different regions around the country. Google for craigslist and include your city or state to find them.
how much are you asking for it?
sent you a pm
craig’s list is nice, but where I live there are no synths period. Only cheap guitars and pianos.
full specs in case anyone knows some rich synth collector
Arp 2600 w/3620 mk3 orange and black -all orig. slider caps, tolex mint, panel very good-no scratches or marks, but some of the white silkscreen lettering is fading on the orange squares.
mods by Tim Smith of Weyer-Smith Labs:
- Fix the “thumping” VCA offset.
- Fix the 2600 filter to increase the freq response. Tim fixed
this and mine specs out at ~35khz. - Change all the cheapo LM301 op amps throughout the synth to high
quality LF711’s. - Fix the Lag Processor problem. All 2600’s drop in pitch when you
use the lag processor. Bad design. Tim fixed it. No more pitch shift. - Full calibration to specs.
- Change the cheapo 1458 op amps in the 3620 to LF412’s.
- Fix the noise when using the internal spring reverbs.
- Added hard sync between osc 2 and 3.
- Added octave switches to all OSC’s. -1, normal and +1 octave.
- Switches on each Osc to select Saw, Square wave or off. Of
course these can be overridden with a patch cord. It makes it very convenient
for quick sound changes. - Added switch and circuitry to double the attack and release
times on the ADSR and AR. - Added 3 sets of 4 multiples jacks.
- Changed MIX, Left and Right outputs to 1/4" jacks.
Accessories:
- 5 foot keyboard to synth cable
- 2 Arp latching footswitches
- 8 high quality cv patch cables
- ~20 foot keyboard to synth cable
- ORIGINAL 2600 owners manual
- ORIGINAL 3620 owners manual
- ORIGINAL 2600 patch manual 100 patches
- ~50 custom patches on patch sheets from arp factory engineer’s
- Original 2600 service manual supporting the 3604p keyboard (the
1st gen 2600) - Original 2600 service manual supporting the 3620 keyboard (last gen 2600)
- Original 3620 Service manual
All Service manuals include schematics. - Original blank facsimile sheets
I would keep the 2600… it has so much potential and sounds incredible. Try saving money for the Voyager or go to the bank and loan a small amount. A 2600 and Voyager… what a rig!!
I wish I had the money to buy one.
Regards
Demokid
I agree with the last post… Keep the 2600.. Mint, all those mods.??. Ten years that thing will be worth a ton.. You could buy two voyagers for what you could sell it for to some German techno freak with a lot of money .
The Eb voyager isn’t going anywhere.. They are still in production.. And even if they stop production they will release a different version, so you will find an EB voyager on ebay for well under what your 2600 is worth..
I have an electric blue Voyager.. It is awesome.. I almost sold my “electric blue” Model D minimoog

to buy my EB voyager, but found another way instead !
Thanks Mike and Linda ! Do like me… Keep the vintage, cuz ARP ain’t re-issuing any thing, any time soon and figure out another way to buy the voyager…
Hear, Hear. Great advice.
I sold my 2600 about 11 years ago for $650–a decent price back then. It was MINT, but did not have all the mods that yours has. Spent the money on an EMU Proteus module. Now the module is worth $100 and the 2600 is worth $3000.
The 2600 is a CLASSIC. I don’t like the sound as much as I like the sound of my Minimoog (that was the reason I sold it back then), but it will do TONS more stuff than the MINI. It will always be a valuable synth.
Do some odd jobs to earn the money–Just don’t sell the 2600–especially with all those mods. You would be giving up a lot for the instant gratification of having the Voyager. That is what I did for the EMU module.
Get the Voyager, but not at the expense of your 2600. If you can’t afford a Voyager right now, you will NEVER be able to afford another 2600, WHICH YOU WILL MISS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Trust me, if you sell the 2600, you will always regret it. I do.
Thats one pretty Model D!

Listen to these people…don’t sell the 2600…you will regret it!
The arp is great, but I have another modular synth that is half or a third of the size that can do all the arp funtions and more. It doesn’t sound like the arp, but the functionality is still there. The arp has a amazing sound even through the int. speakers, but it’s just too big. Also I just don’t like sliders period. I put up with them only because it is a 2600…
One modular is enough as it takes a while to set up patches, and no memory recall.
Decided to get voyager because I need a monosynth for performance.
Don’t let others tell you what gear you need. Only you know what takes priority in your music making process. Having a 2600 would be fun, but if its not what you want, sell it and get what will help you make music.
oyster has a point.. my eb voyager does help for live situations, mucho !
What modular do you have that is half the size of the 2600 and can do everything the 2600 can do plus more ? sounds like a killer box!
