ignore the video itself - if you want - but i’m more interested in the song. when you hit 3:13 there’s this cool soundbit that i think is going thru a phaser/filter of some sort, though i’m not sure. also, i’m not sure if the sound itself is a filter itself or just a plain note. it continues while the main jingle that plays throughout the song goes off in the background.
i’m just wondering how fatboy slim was able to produce that bit there. what kind of effects on the synth? filter/phaser/etc?
also, what’s a 303-line in relation to synthesizers?
Pick up a Plastikman album like “Musik” or “Sheet One”, “Consumed” is good also but is more deeper/darker bass tones and not the squelchy 303 acid sound
Josh Wink tracks make good use of the 303 as well. He is known for slowy building the song up with gradual tweaks of the cutoff knob from low to high and then BOOM letting the 303 freak out with that screaming and squelching sound.
Good stuff, but overused because it really does sound that good!
